The Gospel of St. John reveals to us the prophetic action of Jesus and the mercy of God, who knows the human heart in depth; the situation of women in Jesus’ time, totally marginalized and objectified according to Jewish tradition and Israelite values that severely punish women’s infidelity and adultery.
Jesus today reminds us that no one is perfect or holy or sinless.
Who are we to judge and condemn?
Jesus calls us to mercy, to forgiveness as the hallmark of the community, of every person.
To discover the charm of a life restored and dignified.
May his mercy heal the wounds of our faults, be like Jesus a source of hope and reconciliation in this fractured world.
