God’s triumph over his enemies on the mountain reminds us that the Lord invites us to his table. The first reading calls us to recognize and experience the presence of the Lord. Isaiah reveals our God to us and invites us to place our hope in him, for he is our salvation.
The psalm reminds us once again that the goodness and mercy of the Lord accompany us every day of our lives. He guides us along the path of righteousness, for the Lord is our Shepherd.
In Philippians, let us remember that Christ is the one who gives us strength for everything. This is the most powerful and meaningful affirmation. Paul urges us to proclaim that God, our Father, is worthy of glory forever and ever. Amen. This expresses the manifestation of divine power and character.
Many are called, but few are chosen. We are invited to a great banquet, a banquet that represents a life filled with grace. Yet, because of our pride, we often let this invitation pass us by. We refuse to accept it and always find an excuse that leads us away from the Lord’s path.
No one is worthy of the Lord’s mercy. Whether good or bad, we can all fall into spiritual blindness and fail to recognize God in two ways: first, as the Good Shepherd, who guides and cares for his flock and wishes to prevent us from straying away from him; and second, as the generous host who welcomes us to his table and nourishes us with his Word and with the truth. Decide what helps you to BE HAPPY; do not focus so much on making everything perfect.
In these times, when we speak so much about inclusion, God the Father and Jesus, who embody goodness, have been proclaiming this message for a long time: include, do not exclude; include others and do not feel excluded; include and teach. We return to the invitation extended to us: WE ARE ALL INVITED TO THE BANQUET. We are all invited to the celebration of faith, clothed in our good deeds, our obedience to God, our repentance for all our faults, and everything that is worthy in the eyes of GOD.
