Celebrating the Feast of Father Coll in the context of the Church’s Jubilee and the 150th anniversary of his passing gives us a beautiful opportunity to deepen and be filled with the hope that he lived.
Hope is not just a beautiful speech.
Hope is a real and concrete commitment.
Father Coll lived hope and inspired hope among the people he connected with and to whom he announced the Good News of God, the Gospel.
How did he live hope?
How did he inspire hope?
Let his words echo within us:
- What matters is not just saying a word, but having the courage to speak the first word of reconciliation.
- Whoever loves God keeps peace in their heart and shows it on their face, both in difficult times and in good ones.
- “To teach charity, one must first live it.”
Remember: without prayer, it is not possible.
And just like one flame lights another, so too does hope ignite more hope.
