On August 17, the Parish of Notre Dame de Tendresse in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) was filled with faith, joy, and fraternity on the occasion of the perpetual profession of three Dominican sisters: Adéline Kemda Batcho, Desirée Marcelle Niangoran, and Antonella Monique Houndero.
The Prioress General, Sr. Ana Belén Verísimo García, received their final vows, consecrating them forever to the service of God and the Church. It was a solemn and moving celebration, concelebrated by numerous priests, religious, and Dominican friars, in an atmosphere that reflected the richness of the Church and of consecrated life.
The presence of the sisters from the Dominican communities of Abidjan, Bonoua, and Bouaflé could not be missed. Their participation expressed fraternity and the shared joy for the generosity of the new professed sisters. Also present were the families of the sisters, religious from other congregations, and lay people who accompanied with emotion this decisive moment in their lives.
The church was full, a testimony of the affection and support surrounding the new professed sisters on their path of self-giving. After the Mass, the day continued with a fraternal meal, where participants were able to share in an atmosphere of closeness and gratitude.
The celebration concluded with dances and songs typical of African culture, which added color, rhythm, and joy to this significant event.
The definitive commitment of these three sisters is a sign of hope and a witness of faith that strengthens and renews the mission of proclaiming the Gospel with enthusiasm and dedication.
