Pope León XIV has called on the faithful around the world to take part in a special day of prayer for peace to be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Vatican.

The announcement was made during the traditional Urbi et Orbi message delivered at Easter, in which the Pontiff expressed concern over conflicts affecting different regions of the world and urged people not to resign themselves to violence.

The main vigil will take place at St. Peter’s Basilica, where many faithful and Church representatives are expected to attend. The Pope also invited Christian communities worldwide to join from their own countries through prayer and reflection.

In his message, León XIV emphasized that peace is not merely the absence of war, but requires personal and collective commitment based on solidarity, dialogue, and reconciliation. He also urged the international community not to remain indifferent to the suffering of those living in conflict zones.

With this initiative, the Pontiff seeks to promote a global spiritual mobilization as a sign of hope in a world marked by instability and tension.
