La Congregación de las Hermanas Dominicas de la Anunciata nació en Vic (Barcelona, España) el 15 de agosto de 1856 por iniciativa de San Francisco Coll.

Su fundador descubrió durante sus misiones populares una realidad preocupante: numerosos niños y jóvenes carecían de educación y formación cristiana, especialmente en las zonas rurales.

Ante esta necesidad, sintió la llamada de crear una congregación religiosa que uniera la predicación dominicana con la educación como herramienta de evangelización y transformación social.

Las primeras hermanas aceptaron el reto de anunciar el Evangelio a través de la enseñanza y la cercanía a las personas.

La nueva congregación nació con un propósito claro:
“Anunciar el mensaje de salvación a todos, especialmente a la niñez y juventud a través de la educación.”

Desde sus inicios, las Dominicas de la Anunciata apostaron por una formación integral que ayudara a construir personas libres, responsables y comprometidas con la sociedad.
