It also commemorates Jesus\u2019 entry into Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-start=\"6313\" data-end=\"6888\">The entry into Jerusalem is a prophetic gesture; that is, the message is communicated through the actions of Jesus and those who accompany Him. He prepares it carefully and is fully aware of what He is doing. The evangelist emphasizes that what the prophets had foretold is being fulfilled. Thus, Jesus enters Jerusalem as a king, not as a warrior or conqueror, but as a king of peace. He is acclaimed by His followers as the \u201cSon of David\u201d and as the one who comes \u201cin the name of the Lord,\u201d yet with great humility and simplicity. And it leads people to ask: \u201cWho is this?\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"6890\" data-end=\"7113\">\u2026 betrayed, unjustly judged, humiliated, and crucified. Yet it is also the hour of His self-giving in love. In the midst of injustice and the silence of God, forgiveness, hope, and the unwavering fidelity of the Son emerge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-start=\"7115\" data-end=\"7227\"><strong data-start=\"7115\" data-end=\"7146\">Where am I in this Passion?<\/strong><br data-start=\"7146\" data-end=\"7149\" \/><strong data-start=\"7149\" data-end=\"7227\">Among those who flee, those who accuse, those who look on from a distance?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"7229\" data-end=\"7419\">While Pilate was sitting on the tribunal, his wife sent him this message:<br data-start=\"7302\" data-end=\"7305\" \/>\u201cHave nothing to do with that righteous man, for today I have suffered greatly in a dream because of him\u201d (v. 19).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-start=\"7421\" data-end=\"7773\">Only Matthew mentions Pilate\u2019s wife in a single verse of the account. What might she have been like? It must have taken great courage to interrupt her husband\u2019s work and send him an urgent message. Her dream must have been very powerful, causing her great distress and compelling her to speak. What moved her to try to influence her husband\u2019s decision?<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-start=\"7775\" data-end=\"8097\">The Gospel presents her as a woman of determination, action, integrity, and strength. She senses that an injustice is being done. She does not ask for mercy; she simply believes that Jesus is innocent. She tries to persuade Pilate to act justly, regardless of the consequences. There, she was the only one defending Jesus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-start=\"8099\" data-end=\"8207\"><strong data-start=\"8099\" data-end=\"8160\">Have you ever found yourself moved to denounce injustice?<\/strong><br data-start=\"8160\" data-end=\"8163\" \/>But you, Lord, do not be far off (Ps 22:20).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-start=\"8209\" data-end=\"8439\">I can find no better way to enter this Holy Week than to take the question \u201cWho is this?\u201d as an invitation to deepen our knowledge of Jesus Christ and to listen attentively to the Word and the liturgy of this Holy Week and Easter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-start=\"8441\" data-end=\"8677\">Keeping this firmly in mind, let us not waste the pedagogy by which the liturgy, in these holy days, gradually leads us toward the moment from which the whole meaning of our faith flows and which will fully reveal\u00a0<strong data-start=\"8655\" data-end=\"8663\">WHOM<\/strong>\u00a0we celebrate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-start=\"8679\" data-end=\"8711\"><em><strong data-start=\"8679\" data-end=\"8711\">Sr. Carmen Casellas Rabaseda OP<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8679\" data-end=\"8711\">Provincia San Raimundo de Pe\u00f1afort<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mass of the Passion:\u00a0Is 50:4\u20137 \/ Ps 21 \/ Phil 2:6\u201311 \/ Mt 26:14\u201327:66Blessing of Palms:\u00a0Mt 21:1\u201311 Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord inaugurates the annual celebration of the Paschal Mystery of the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
