Luke 17:11-19<\/b> – <\/span>\u201cJesus, Master, have mercy on us!\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

Those who cried out to Jesus for compassion received not only healing but also the chance to return to life, family, and society.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today\u2019s Gospel presents\u00a0gratitude, just as last Sunday highlighted\u00a0faith\u2014a faith now expressed in thanksgiving for restored health and dignity. From faith should flow grateful praise, closeness, and the joy of recognizing the greatness and abundance of what we have received.<\/span><\/p>\n

To live with gratitude and praise God\u00a0for all we receive from Him: this is the image reflected in the story of the ten lepers, with special emphasis on the Samaritan who \u201creceived something more\u201d despite his double condition of exclusion (as a leper and a foreigner).<\/span><\/p>\n

He recognized God\u2019s presence in his life and returned to Jesus in gratitude, falling face down before Him to give thanks. But Jesus asked:<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u201cWere not all ten made clean? Where are the other nine?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Nine of them were unable to thank for the extraordinary gift they had received; they went their way, forgetting the Healer and returning to ordinary life without recognizing the divine work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Believing in Jesus transforms us, heals us, cleanses us, makes us new creations, and enables us to live for the Kingdom.<\/span><\/p>\n

In summary, the grateful person recognizes the love of the giver, receives the gift, becomes more willing to give, walks through life with a smile, rejects evil, and strengthens bonds with the One who gives. Human beings have no merit or credit before God; all is grace, beginning with the gift of life. So, how can we not live in gratitude?<\/span><\/p>\n

To live in gratitude is a sign of the presence of the Kingdom among us.<\/span>
