In the midst of a world shaken by wars, divisions, and wounds that seem never to heal, humanity continues to seek a refuge: peace. It is not just a simple silence after the storm, but something deeper, more lasting, more true.<\/p>\n

On a solemn evening with his disciples, Jesus spoke words that echo through the centuries like a whisper full of hope:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cPeace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives\u2026\u201d (John 14:27).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This promise was not a distant ideal, but a gift meant to dwell in the hearts of those who trusted in Him. The prophet Isaiah understood it well when he wrote:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cYou will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you\u201d (Isaiah 26:3).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Peace, then, does not begin outside, in agreements or treaties, but within each soul that surrenders into God\u2019s hands. Paul knew this well and summarized it in a simple yet demanding exhortation:<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cIf it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone\u201d (Romans 12:18).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Today, that same call resounds with strength through the voice of Pope Leo XIV. One August morning, before thousands of gathered pilgrims, he asked the entire Church to unite in fasting and prayer for peace. He did not do so with the coldness of a diplomat, but with the urgency of a shepherd who feels the pain of his people. He designated August 22, the Feast of the Queen of Peace<\/strong>, as a day to raise together the cry of humanity. And he entrusted that cry to Mary, the Mother who never abandons her children.<\/p>\n

The Pope thus reminded us that peace is not won by weapons, but through gestures of fraternity, with open hearts and outstretched hands. In his words there was an echo of the Gospel, the one that calls \u201cchildren of God\u201d those who work for peace (Matthew 5:9).<\/p>\n

The scene remains engraved in memory: a wounded world, a Pope inviting to prayer, and a community of believers who, closing their eyes in prayer, unite beyond borders and differences. There, in that shared silence, peace begins to take shape.<\/p>\n

Lord of mercy,<\/em>
make us builders of peace.<\/em>
May our words heal,<\/em>
may our actions unite,<\/em>
and may our prayers, lifted with Mary, Queen of Peace,<\/em>
sustain those who today suffer from war and violence.<\/em>
